No Gimmicks Needed » Sports
- you can watch the show for free at http://www.bite.ca/show/Wrestlicious/, very nice service and no commercials ![]()
- the show is only 22:35 long, I was expecting something more like the length of NXT/ECW, it will be difficult to make a good show with so little time
- the intro music & rap is way too long, it takes up more than 10% of the time
- I wonder how they’ll fit everybody on the show, it should be impossible because it is far too short to feature the majority of the girls
- the dance team is kinda unskilled
- the crowd is like the one in Hogan’s celebrity wrestling, I’m not a fan of using “fake” crowds
- the fake laughs during the skits are horrible
- the skits seem like very cheap (and mostly unfunny) comedy skits, I hope they get better
- the first Wrestlicious match ever is Toni the Top vs. Maui, Toni wins in a short squash, Maui is not very good, I don’t know if she has wrestled before, but it doesn’t seem like it
- the announcers could be better
- the main event consists of a six person tag match, Maria Toro (Mercedes Martinez), Bandita & Felony (Rain) vs. Cousin Cassie, Tyler Texas (Lorelei Lee) & Charlotte (Amber O’Neal), I think Bandita and Cousin Cassie aren’t experienced wrestlers (at least I didn’t recognise them) and I guess that’s why they only worked the beginning of the match, most of the rest features Maria Toro & Felony beating down Tyler Texas and then finally pinning Charlotte, the wrestling was ok once the vets got into the ring and the match got a decent amount of time, but it still really wasn’t anything to write home about
- Mercedes Martinez never looked so attractive
- in my eyes Felony’s gimmick was the funniest one on the entire show
- during both matches the camera work was astrocious in my opnion, many camera angles were simply horrible and distracted from the match
- overall I was a little disappointed, because I expected a longer show and better skits, but it was only the first show and I believe it has some potential, it does need a little more structure, better camera work & commentary and funnier skits, the wrestling should be fine if they let the experienced wrestlers handle most of the matches
- the Wrestlicious website is still incomplete, they really should’ve finished it by now, they had more than enough time
- first match of the show is Sweet Papi Sanchez vs. Tyson Tarver
- Sweet Papi has a brown bag full of candy for the people in attendance and a big heart shaped box for Angela, can’t say I like this gimmick so far
- Sweet Papi Sanchez literally squashes Tarver so that the conglomerate suffers yet another loss, Saxton has to make a big addition to his stable or it’ll lose any momentum they had left
- it’s time to decide who’ll face Angela in the queen of FCW tournament final, this means Alicia Fox vs. Tiffany now
- Alicia has a nice looking dropkick, she wins with some kind of axe-kick, hmm I expected a better match between the two, they had better matches in the past
- next out is the Irish Curse Sheamus O’Shaunessey, he gets the mic and claims to be the rightful FCW champion (I agree) and informs Escobar that he’s coming for the gold, tonight he has to face Johnny Curtis though
- Sheamus controls most of the match, just as Curtis was gaining the upper hand Ryback (boo) ran in and caused the DQ, Tyler Reks attemps to make the save, but Sheamus and Ryback take out both tag champs
- tag team action is next Jon Cutler & Dylan Klein (w/ Wesley Holliday) vs. Kris Logan & Johnny Prime
- oh my god I want to punch Dylan Klein right in the face so bad, he reminds me of Nick Hogan
- Logan & Prime look like a tag team, similiar tights, hair and tan
- Logan & Prime win in an ok match, they had two nice double team moves, they should continue tagging
- Eric Escobar is on commentary for the main event, he looks like a moron when he’s wearing a cap kinda like the gay german singer Mark Medlock
- the main event is TJ Wilson vs. Kaval
- I hope Kaval gets new tights in the future, his current ones are horrible
- summersault senton off the announce table from TJ, not bad
- Escobar shouldn’t be on commentary ever again
- first half of the match was kinda slow and technical and I asked myself if Kaval forgot how to kick, but fortunately he didn’t and is tidal wavin’ & kickin’ now
- Kaval wins with a brutal looking warrior’s way, good match, you could really see that these guys have a lot of experience
- overall an ok show, I liked last week’s main event better and apart of the main event there weren’t any notable matches and only one promo
- Rosa Mendez is the ring announcer and she looks bangin’
- first match of the night is Drew McIntyre vs. Kris Logan
- Kris Logan should go even more for that Wolverine look, it might just be his best chance to become something in the wrestling biz
- I wonder why they have so many people from the UK in development, they never call them up AND use them anyway
- McIntyre dominates and wins, after the match he demands a title match, I don’t know why they don’t use him, he could easily play a role in ECW
- oh it’s Jenny Ca$h’s gossip segment, I liked the outfit from last week better, but she’s still gorgeous, cha-ching
- the magnificent Byron Saxton gets on the mic next, he complains about the world & Black Pain, he also informs us that Black Pain is now known as Sweet Papi Sanchez (sounds like big love machine Viscera II)
- now the conglomerate (Lawrence Knight, Kaleb O’Neal & Tyson Tarver) come out to face WWE superstars DJ Gabriel, Ricky Ortiz & Kizarny
- the WWE superstars have some fun and basically squash the conglomerate, the conglomerate has been looking pretty weak in the last few weeks, I do not like it
- the 1st queen of FCW tournament semi-final is next, the girl from Mexico vs. Angela
- Angela does a few kicks, a matrix move (which looked very good), a head scissor, a hurracanrana and then the girl from Mexico wants to leave, but Sweet Papi doesn’t allow that, back in the ring Angela goes for the pin and gets the win, I would’ve liked to see a longer match between the two
- after the match the mexican girl wants to attack Angela, but Sweet Papi saves her and demasks the girl to reveal…….Trent Barretta! Scotty Goldman is pretty embarressed that he had a date with Trent
- next up is Ryan Braddock vs. Joe Hennig
- Bradley Jay, what have they done to you ![]()
- Hennig wins with the perfect plex, match was solid and I was surprised that it was so open, maybe there is hope left for Braddock after all
- main event time, DH Smith vs. Eric Escobar (C) for the FCW Heavyweight title
- Escobar retains with a school boy, really good match, one of the best that I’ve seen in FCW, good selling by Escobar
- overall it was a good show, thanks to the main event, would’ve liked more promos and more matches that aren’t just there for no reason
- Scotty Goldman replaces Dusty Rhodes on commentary this week
- hmm, seems like the first match of the night was replaced with a college basketball game in the version I saw, but since the match involved Johnny Prime (vs. Sheamus) I’m sure I missed nothing ![]()
- DH Smith comes to the ring to hold a promo, he wants to be FCW Champion, because he has the heritage, THE LEGACY (oh what a oh so clever subtle hint, only the supersmart people like me caught that) and he’s the best, damn he really needs to work on his promos
- Eric Escobar comes out to answer Smith’s challenge, Escobar knows about Smith’s LEGACY and he gives him a shot at the title next week, Eric please go outside and get a tan, cause right now you look more like Eric Alexander than Eric Escobar ![]()
- TJ Wilson comes out to interrupt, he blames Smith for letting the team down and only thinking of himself, then he says that he himself deserves a title shot, because HE’S THE BEST, I hope somebody told them to say that, cause if that’s the best they can come up with on their own, then these two have A LONG way to go in the mic skills department
- Smith says he’s leader of their team and then they team up on Escobar, but suddenly LOW-KI comes for the save, I never thought that we would see him in WWE, it’s strange, Goldman also mentions that Low-Ki is now known as Kawal
- the second match of the night is another queen of FCW tournament match, Wesley Holliday vs. Tiffany
- both girls have awesome breasts and I think Tiffany should play Harley Quinn in a future Batman moviw, hot body, huge smile, she’d be perfect
- can you believe that some people actually think that “the girl from Mexico” is a real girl? Other people think it’s Scotty Goldman eventhough he commentated during her last match and has a completely different body type. I personally think it’s Trent Barretta, he’s slim and a goofy heel, so it could really be him
- Wesley plays the heel in this match, she’s still very raw (but better than Cash & James) and so the match was rather forgettable, Tiffany has shown in the past that she could work better matches with other opponents, Tiffany advances to the semis where she’ll face Alicia Fox
- next out is Alex Riley, hmm he doesn’t look familiar, but he does have an outfit (varsity jacket) that looks different to most other FCW guys, oh he gets a mic, he basically says that he has a new attitude, I liked his delivery skills
- his opponent is Kafu, I really can’t get into Kafu which is a shame, cause he’s one of the FCW wrestlers that has a unique character, he has a unique look, a unique outfit, a staff, a chant to get the crowd involved, a unique capoeira influenced fighting style (which doesn’t look good with his body type and the high boots in my opinion), but I just can’t get into him
- Riley wins in a below average and short match, has Kafu ever won a match? It seems like I always see him losing
- nice it’s Jenny Ca$h and she has her own gossip segment now, that’s the kind of thing that FCW needs to give their guys some more character, segment was kinda short though and I was busy looking at her boobs through that see-through top, cha-ching! ![]()
- Byron Saxton is in the ring and his outfit is as awesome as always, he announces that Black Pain is no longer a part of the conglomerate, he goes on to say that Knight & O’Neal will become tag champs
- so it’s main event time Knight & O’Neal vs. Reks & Curtis (C)
- I don’t like Tyler Reks but he like Kafu has a unique character, dread locks, surfer gear, flashy move set, so I can tolerate him as tag champ, Johnny Curtis however is as bland as it gets, how many Johnnys, Johns, Jons have they anyway?
- Reks gets the win for his team via a roll-up that lasted way too long in my opinion, match was ok, nothing too exciting
- after the match Sexton goes crazy and screams at poor little helpless Angela, but Black Pain comes into the arena for the save, he beats up the conglomerate and TAKES OFF THE MASK, he then helps Angela to her feet and carries her backstage, I think they should’ve kept the mask on him, but I’ll wait to see were it goes
- overall FCW TV was quite solid in my eyes, it didn’t have much match quality, but finally a lot of segments that helped people develop some character and improve their promo skills
- show starts with DJ Gabriel vs. the already released Bam Neely
- damn Alicia Fox’s body is crazy hot, she might have the best body of all the divas, but facewise she somehow looks like a major weedhead to me (if you have raunchy perverted nude pics of her feel free to send them to me
)
- how come DJ Gabriel hasn’t failed a wellness test yet? I mean look at him! Hmm, maybe his dance workouts with Alicia made him look like that, I should try that too
- Gabriel wins, the match wasn’t anything special
- next up is Lawrence Knight (with Byron Sexton) vs. Johnny Prime (with Kaleb O’Neal)
- these two are exactly what’s wrong with a lot of FCW guys, they all look the same, tall, slim, short tights, tattoo on left upper arm, no defined character whatsoever
- well at least Lawrence Knight has the awesome Byron Saxton as his manager, Saxton is like a poor man’s Elijah Burke (because they’re both black……err I mean they both ooze charisma), hopefully he doesn’t end up the same way, I would very much like to see him as a manager in the big leagues
- match ends in a DQ and afterwards O’Neal turns on his partner and joins the conglomerate, that was kinda surprising to me, the whole storyline long I thought Prime would join the conglomerate ![]()
- woohoo Scotty Goldman joins the announcing booth which means it’s time for the next match in the queen of FCW tournament, I wonder when WWE will start finally doing something with Goldman (it should really be Goldmann in my opinion), hopefully giving him this internet show is a sign that they have big things planned for him
- is this Janny Cash’s first TV match? She is raw as heel (but very pretty)
- yeah so Alicia Fox advances after a horrible match, but it’s ok everyone has to start somewhere
- now it’s time for Smackdown SuperStar Ryan Braddock vs. 3rd generation wrestler Joe Hennig
- I fear that Braddock will be released soon, they haven’t used him in how long? His hair is terrible now and he looks kinda sloppy, I very much enjoyed him in DSW as the monster from the midway, but it seems like he isn’t big enough to play that role in the WWE and so his chances for success seem slim
- Hennig has good athleticism and decent wrestling skills, but has zero charisma in my eyes, I even feel that he shouldn’t use the perfect-plex cause there is just nothing perfect about him, however I do think that we’ll see him in WWE sooner or later
- Hennig wins in a solid match, not bad, not bad at all
- Ryback video promo, urgh why did they rehire him? And why did they let him keep that terrible Ryback gimmick?
- it’s main event time with RAW’s Dolph Ziggler & Sheamus O’Shaunessy vs. FCW champion Eric Escobar & RAW’s Kofi Kingston
- Dolph Ziggler reminds me of Billy Gunn in a gayish way, he needs some character development really bad, this “I’m Dolph Ziggler” thing isn’t funny anymore
- I still think Eric Escobar shouldn’t be FCW champ, I mean yeah he’s a capable wrestler and ok on the mic, but to me there is nothing about him that says champion, in my opinion he is best used as part of a tag team or stable, kinda like when he was in DSW, that was when I liked him best
- Sheamus should be the next WWE callup and I already have a perfect way to introduce him and it’s 100% stupid and ridiculous, are you ready? Ok, we all know Hornswoggle is a leprechaun right? So they just say that he’ll turn 18 soon and when leprechauns turn 18 they transform so instead of little leprechaun Hornswoggle we will now have bad ass red haired super pale Hornswoggle formerly known as Sheamus, it rids us of Horny and gets as Sheamus so Finlay can be a bad ass again, perfectly stupid. And if they decide that Sheamus shouldn’t be Hornswoggle anymore they can just have him say that he kidnapped the real Hornswoggle and fed him to Mark Henry or something like that.
![]()
- Sheamus wins the match for his team via the fiery red hand on Escobar, match was decent but not good, I guess Sheamus will get a title match very soon
- overall I felt the show was slighty subpar, too much RAW/Smackdown/ECW guys were used and the only promo time was used on Ryback
- FCW really needs to have more interviews and angles, how else are these young guys supposed to develop their character and entertainment skills? It also makes the show feel boring if there are mostly just random matches
Tres Caídas is a documentary about the mexican world of wrestling also known as lucha libre. I have to say that it was one of the most interesting wrestling documentaries that I’ve seen and there were simply no boring parts.
Most of the documentary consists of interviews with a lot of mexican wrestlers (Villano III, Tinieblas, Electro Shock, Gran Apache, Blue Demon Jr., Gronda and many more), you get to know why they wrestle, why they wear or don’t wear a mask, how it is to work with/against family members, what jobs they work at in their “real” lives and other personal stuff.
There are also interviews with some of the promoters who basically explain what makes mexican wrestling so special and why people go there in the first place. Understandably the promoters kayfabe some stuff, but we already know how the fights work anyway, don’t we?
A good part of the documentary is dedicated to the man whose life story inspired the Jack Black movie ‘Nacho Libre’, Fray Tormenta, it’s really cool to hear what he achieved for the orphans by becoming a luchador and what it it like for a priest to start wrestling.
Furthermore you get to hear from female wrestlers LuFisto, Ariel (the Portuguese princess, not Shelly Martinez) and TNA’s Roxxi (or Nikki Roxx) who wrestled for Lucha Libre Femenil, an all female federation, at that time period.
It’s also explained how wrestlers got ‘mascots’ and how the minis like La Parkita & Mascarita Sagrada get their roles.
Then you hear a little bit from the exoticos like Pimpinela Escarlata & Maximo (who’s actually married to female wrestler India Sioux).
During the last couple minutes Tiger Mask II explains the differences between mexican and japanese wrestling, some japanese wrestlers explain why they like to work in Mexico (at least for one it has to do with booty) and you get to take a short look at the spanish wrestling scene plus one of the extreme mexican promotions who have fights similiar to those in BJW or CZW.
This documentary was about 90 minutes long and I recommend everyone to watch it if you get the chance, because it was very entertaining and you get to know more about many of the mexican lucha libre stars.
The official website is located at http://www.nachocabana.com/trescaidas.html.
P.S.: I think Villano III has one of the ugliest foreheads in wrestling, in my opinion it even beats guys like New Jack and Carlos Colon.

Cenk’s downslide continues, now Efes doesn’t even use him in Euroleague games anymore. I guess the only positive right now is that he put up some assists against pretty bad turkish teams.

Very mediocre month for Childress. He had one good game against the weak A.E.L. but other than that he didn’t really do all that much. His lack of free throws surprises me, seems like he’s not playing aggressive enough.

Horrible month for Cenk. He gets less playing time than in any of his other seasons. In the three games he played over 10 minutes this month, he only did something once (against the weak Erdemir team). The NBA seems far far away for him if he continues to develop in the wrong direction, maybe he should go to a lesser team and try to contribute there.

Andersen produced better than in his first month, but he’s still inconsistent, sometimes he plays very strong (Fuenlabarada, Unicaja) and sometimes he totally stinks (Siena, Estudiantes, Manresa). His play in Spain and Europe is now almost identical though. He didn’t play against Granada, maybe he’s injured?

Childress didn’t have a good month scoringwise but at least he made his first European three pointers. His team also suffered it’s first losses including a devastating loss against main rival Panathinaikos.
